I spent my youth in the Scottish countryside, and my father was a painter. During my youth, I rescued and hand-reared many a wild animal. When not involved with the animals, I was working on my art. It was during this time that my love of nature and painting began.
When I came to Ireland, I studied with Professor Yan Goulet who was a gifted artist, and a fine teacher. I then went on to study ceramics and became a teacher. I taught ceramics and sculpture for 16 years, but I never lost my love of painting.
