Artists' Circle Bray

I have been painting and drawing since childhood. Although I used to paint in oils, in recent years, I have concentrated mainly on watercolours as I find the delicate colours and method of painting very challenging and enjoyable.

I lived abroad in Germany and Tuscany, Italy, for 16 years and when I paint I wish to recreate the sunshine and brightness of those landscapes. Many of my paintings deal with shadow and light in a summer landscape often in Italy, France and Germany. I also paint flowers and I have created a lot of abstract wall mosaics in my garden.

I have attended many watercolour classes and workshops with Barbara Barrett, Greg Allan, Fergal Flanagan, Brigid O'Brien and Grahame Booth among others. I have also been on painting holidays with Adam Cope in the South-West of France, with Catherine Stock in the Dordogne in France, and in both Tuscany and Devon with Bettina Schroeder.

I have exhibited over the years in Bray, Dublin, Glasthule, Greystones and Killiney. I have been a member of Greystones Art Group and Artists' Circle Bray for many years and continue to enjoy the company of fellow artists.
